How to add a MailChimp form to your ProPhoto 7 Website

Email marketing is a great tool to grow a strong and loyal customer following. That is just one of the 5 reasons your should have an email program on your website.

Today we are sharing how to add a MailChimp form to your WordPress ProPhoto 7 website in three easy steps.

Three easy steps to adding your MailChimp form to your ProPhoto site:

  1. Create a MailChimp embed signup form
  2. Add an HTML widget to your ProPhoto Widget section
  3. Add the widget to your ProPhoto layout or block

1. Create a MailChimp embed signup form

If you haven’t already, signup for a free account with MailChimp. If you’re not sure about which email provider is the best for you, checkout our post on selecting he best email marketing software for your photography website.

MailChimp Embedded Forms

Once logged in, click “Audience” then click “View Contacts” then click “Signup Forms.” You will see a list of form options. You will want to select the “Embedded Forms.”

Select a form style

You may select any of the embedded form style options. Personally, we like the “Condensed” or “Horizontal” styles.

Select your preferred form style from the list. If you don’t want the title to appear on your website, then uncheck the “Include form Title” box.

Copy the HTML text code in the box.

2. Add an HTML widget to your ProPhoto widget section

Sign into your WordPress website. Once in the dashboard hover over the Appearance tab on the left panel, then click widgets from the menu.

Click on the Custom HTML widget from the list of available widgets and drag it into the ProPhoto Widgets section.

Click the Custom HTML widget you just added so that it opens the additional settings.

Paste the MailChimp Embed code (from step 1) into the content area. Optionally, add a widget title to your custom HTML that will show on your website. Lastly, click save to keep the changes.

3. Add the widget to your ProPhoto layout or block

Open the ProPhoto 7 customizer. Navigate to the page or layout you want to add the form on.

Add a new ProPhoto block OR unlock an existing ProPhoto block inside your layout.

Click elements from the left panel, then click the widget from the list and drag it into a ProPhoto block row or ProPhoto block column.

Click the setting icon of the widget. From the dropdown select the HTML Custom widget you created in step 2.

Close out of the widget dialog box. Click the ProPhoto blue save button to save all your changes.

PLEASE NOTE: in the ProPhoto customizer view you will not see your HTML code live. You must visit the live “front end” of the website to see the MailChimp embed code.
